From July 7 to 11, 2027, Bordeaux will be the scene of an exceptional maritime event: the start of the Tall Ships Race, one of the most prestigious races of historic tall ships.
A unique event on Bordeaux's quays
For the first time, Bordeaux Métropole and the City of Bordeaux will host the start of the Tall Ships Race. The quays of Bordeaux will be transformed into a veritable home port for these giants of the seas. You'll be able to admire them up close and take part in nautical activities before their grand departure for Spain!
Bordeaux Wine Festival: a perfect alliance
This 2027 edition will be all the more memorable for coinciding with the Wine Festival, the must-attend event for wine lovers. The quays will vibrate to the rhythm of wine and maritime festivities, combining tastings, concerts, entertainment and nautical parades. Visitors will be able to savor the region's best vintages while admiring the historic sailing ships, creating a unique atmosphere combining maritime heritage and art de vivre.

A human and international adventure
Since its creation in 1953, the Tall Ships Race has been promoting international friendship and training young people in the art of traditional sailing. More than half of the crews of participating yachts will be made up ofyoung trainees aged 15 to 25, who have come to discover and share a unique experience at sea.
