Les Côtes, the boldness of river and estuary lands
A landscape of vineyards and wooded valleys, a diversity that offers great opportunities for tourism. Rich clay-limestone soils, vineyard slopes bordering the Gironde and Garonne rivers, between morning fog and afternoon heat, favor the aromatic concentration of the grapes. Winegrowers with a pioneering spirit, independent and daring craftsmen, families who innovate to achieve surprising results. They do everything from A to Z, and devote themselves body and soul to producing wine. They are the link from one generation to the next, cultivating family values of conviviality, generosity and authenticity.
L'audace des Côtes is an opportunity to enrich traditional know-how with new, forward-looking approaches, on family farms with vineyard plots on a human scale.
A committed vineyard
Like all Bordeaux wines, we are aware of our responsibilities and are passionately committed to our transition to sustainable viticulture. Our wines blend into a global ecosystem that must remain harmonious. That's why we are collectively directing our viticulture on the scale of the world's largest PDO vineyard. More attentive and respectful of the environment and people, we are working to create a sustainable winegrowing heritage to pass on to our children.
More than 75% of our vineyards are CERTIFIED by an environmental approach: Organic, High Environmental Value HVE, Terra Vitis, Demeter, etc. vs. 35% in 2014.
Winegrowers, cooperative wineries and merchants committed to the collective Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, with the Cultivons Demain label.
Fun fact about Côtes
The Côtes, their wines, their land and their winegrowers are all strongholds: Bourg, Blaye, Castillon, Sainte-Foy, Francs and Cadillac. They have witnessed acts of bravery in history that have forged Aquitaine. It's these daring acts that make the Côtes a living tradition!
