Picasso & Wine - The Effervescence of Shapes 15th April to 28th August 2022 at La Cité du Vin

The original exhibition ‘Picasso & Wine - The Effervescence of Shapes’ at La Cité du Vin will be on throughout Bordeaux Wine Week. Thanks to particularly generous participation from Picasso museums in Paris and Barcelona, as well as private collections, the exhibition displays 80 of his works. For the first time ever, the place of wine in his work is being celebrated.

The Picasso exhibition – taking place from 15th April to 28th August 2022, ‘The Effervescence of Shapes’ – explores the place that wine and spirits occupy in the work of Pablo Picasso, through a wide variety of themes and art forms (paintings, drawings, ceramics, films, etc.). For the occasion, the Foundation for Wine Culture and Civilisations have enlisted the support of the art critic and historian Stéphane Guégan as a scientific consultant.

The exhibition shines new light on Pablo Picasso’s work and reveals his effervescent creativity, which stayed with him throughout his life. Find all information at www.laciteduvin.com.
