Graves - Sauternes

Graves-Sauternes, the origin of Bordeaux Great Wines.

The birth place of Bordeaux wines, the Graves and Sauternes regions  offers a formidable diversity of prestigious wines in red, dry and sweet white wines.

On the Graves-Sauternes booth, come and discover the origin of “ The Grands Vins de Bordeaux “ !

Lying on the left bank of the River Garonne, the  prestigious vineyards of Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Sauternes and Barsac stretches from Bordeaux in the North to Langon in the South.

28 Crus Classés in 1855 including the illustrious Château Yquem and Château Haut-Brion ensure the quality and reputation of this area .

The vines represent a surface area of 7500 hectares split between red (53%) and white (47%) varieties, planted on a series of magnificent outcrops of gravels, the remains  of the ancient passage of the river during the tertiary and quaternary periods.

450 winegrowers produce fine and elegant wines from 5 appellations and  3 colours : Graves, Graves Supérieures, Pessac-Léognan, Sauternes and Barsac with red , white and golden for the sweet.
