Bagad de Lann-Bihoué pipe band

Traditional Breton music

Alain Souchon wrote a song inspired by the Bagad de Lann-Bihoué that was later sung by Nolwenn Leroy and more recently by Boulevard des Airs.  A French classic, it has undoubtedly contributed to the reputation of this magnificent Breton naval pipe band.   The Bagad de Lann-Bihoué will be leaving its naval base near Lorient and disembarking in Bordeaux in full uniform (with red pompoms). During their visit, the 30 pipers will be performing the great favourites from their repertoire, with its distinctive Celtic flavour.  And to ensure that the notes of their unique music are audible all over the quays, there will no less than a dozen bombards (a kind of oboe), and almost as many bagpipes, not forgetting the drummers, percussionists and the indispensable banner-bearer!
